Women Drive Too Statement on NHTSA Approval of Advanced Female Crash Test Dummy Technical Specifications

Today, the Women Drive Too coalition released the following statement regarding today’s announcement from NHTSA:

“NHTSA’s approval of the advanced female crash test dummy technical specifications is a meaningful step, one the previous Administration chose not to take, and it shows that progress is possible.

We applaud this action, but by itself, it won’t be enough.

We need to complete the progress by Congress passing The She DRIVES Act sponsored by Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE). Passing the Act is the only way to ensure advanced dummies actually deliver the real-world safety improvements families need by being fully incorporated into federal testing so that every family is protected.”
